Joomla Anyone...

Hello,

Is anyone using Jooma as the backbone of their weather website?

Thanks!

www.BarrowCountyWeather.com

Yes, and have not looked back since.

So much easier to manage with a CMS, and means I can get on with the weather content instead of sorting out the formatting / pages.

Great looking site!

Are you using a “free” template or otherwise?

Thanks!

Just a reminder for those using CMS scripts for their web sites… make sure you stay current with all upgrades and patches…

I’m using a free template, but then have played around a bit with some of the colors and formatting. One day I want to build a template of my own that is weather themed but have no time at the moment.

Yes, make sure you keep on top of patches, either version upgrades or patched files. Using a well known package makes it a target for automated defacement. Also read some of the security advisories on the net about the best way of configuring joomla, or any other CMS.

Very sound advice. I’m using Mambo and it’s been hacked (and destroyed) once.

WordPress is the current choice target, Bots are sniffing for old versions left and right… :frowning:
