FARS query

Just got my Pro2 all set up and tested and now ready to mount on (temporary) pole.
Question is there are two plastic tabs which indicate you pull them out to remove them, presume they are something to do with the fan, but nothing in the instructions about them.
Do I just pull them out?

Rosalind

I see this in the manual:

Tabs are included to ensure that the batteries installed in the fan-aspirated housing do not power the unit during shipping. To power the fan-aspirated unit:

  1. Pull the battery tabs out slowly.
  2. Listen for a slight whir coming from the bottom of the ISS unit. This sound signifies that the fan is running.

Thanks Niko, didn’t see that in my manual, but may have just been me. The fan ran when we took it outside anyway.

The solar panel would have actuated the fan in daylight.

I find that at this latitude the cell charge is poor in the winter months and have to be replaced, which is a real fiidly job with cold hands.
