Vortex wind sensor and gusts

I just installed a new Inspeed Vortex wind sensor to avoid the spikes associated with my Lacrosse 2310. I am still using the 2310 for wind direction. While I am getting good wind speeds my gusts seem to be reading high. The unit is level. Did I miss a setting someplace or is there another cause?

Hi Chris: I had the same problem but was getting gusts over 70 with no wind.
I cured it by removing the inspeed from the USB-serial adaptor and plugging it
into motherboard port (com-1) and putting station on the USB adaptor.
Change the com port settings on WD to comply. Allso be sure to have the D2 box checked.
