It began to rain heavy and I noticed that my rain guage hadn’t registered. So I went out with a cup of water and poured it down in the rain cone and didn’t hear the tipper work.
So I took off the cover an checked it and it moved back and forward, so I gave the mast a shove and put the cone back on and poured water in and it was an audible tip sound.
It appears that sometimes the mast gets out of level and the water goes into the bucket, down the cone and misses the tippers… something to watch for and to check from time to time.
It is working now and when the weather gets a bit better and so do I , I am going to be out with my wrench set and levels… making sure that winter hasn’t got everything out of balance including solar and uv sensor levels.
