WMR200 data logging problems?

Having problems collecting logged data from a WMR200?

  1. Make sure you have updated to the most recent version of WD.

N.B. If you are trying to use a ‘free’ copy of Weather Display Basic that came with your WMR200 it is probably a very old release. For more about Weather Display Basic see this Topic.

  1. Make sure that the time and date on your console and WD PC are the same. If the times do not match there are bound to be regular gaps in your data each time you start up WD and collect data from the logger.
In some areas the WMR200 will set its own time from a radio signal, in other area you need to set the time yourself. If you have set the time yourself look out especially for a “12 hours out” error, and for the change to and from Daylight Saving Time.

  2. Make sure that you do not allow your computer to go into Hibernation or Standby mode with WD still running.
Hibernation and Standby suspend then resume WD in full flight without the normal shutdown and startup processes, so data logged by the WMR200 while the PC is ‘sleeping’ does not get collected when the PC wakes up.

If those measures don’t solve or explain your problems and you’d like help please ask a question in the WD Questions Forum, attaching a copy of wmr200history.txt to your message (to attach a file use the Additional Options link when writing your message).

wmr200history.txt is in the wdisplay folder. It contains a host of diagnostic detail for the most recent start up of WD.

N.B. The wmr200history.txt file can be quite large so you’ll probably need to compress it into a zip archive, or trim it down to the most important bits (which are usually the first 100 lines or so, the again from just before “Station Ready”, starting 10-20 lines before the nearest “No more missed data count 1” above “Station Ready”).
