VirtualVP only works with the Vantage Pro. See http://www.softwx.com/weather/virtualvp.html

I'm not familiar with the Cresta, but unless it is a re-branded Davis Vantage Pro, then VirtualVP will not work with it. VirtualVP only works with the Vantage Pro. If the Cresta has a simple communications protocol, then you might be able to do the same thing that VirtualVP does by using two open source programs: com0com, and hub4com. They are found here: http://com0com.sourceforge.net/

The com0com + hub4com solution will work for weather stations that are send-only, i.e. they send data out over the serial connection, but they do not expect anything back.
