Get help when setting up anemometer mast!

I’ve just spent the past 3 hours setting an anemometer mast using an old 50’ telescoping TV antenna mast a coworker wanted to get rid of. The mast was about 27’ when I picked it up last week (by myself), and after screwing with it all day Saturday getting it loosened up, I got the final height of the mast 30’, 2" and have about 2’, 7" sunk in the ground and strapped to a fence then strapped to the 2nd floor eaves via the included strap.

I’m sure this is obvious to others, but for those of you looking to setup an anemometer mast, get someone to help! Doing this by yourself is dangerous.

Sorry… Just had to rant about this.

But at least after 2 weeks of being windless, I now have wind data coming in.

Do you have any pictures of it?

Not yet. But I’ll see if i can borrow someones camera to take some pics of it. Plus I want to put them on my info page @ the CW gladstone site.
