Easy fix, put a copy of the spiders.txt in your wordpress main folder
yoursite.com/wxblog
or in your case stillweather.com/wordpress
Hi Mike,
Figures, I tried that but put the spiders txt in the wrong spot. However a few more errors now came up.

Jack, try this real quick, go into WD admin ancd change to default theme, do the mysql errors go away?
Let me know if they do I have an idea to try …
Yes they did Mike!
ok then turn your theme back on then edit your template Settings.php and comment out the whos online include lines
If the errors go away I will have a new whosonline package ready in a few minutes
ok, might be a minute…literally setting up a new machine…just got WD back up and running, still a ton to do!
If you use my whos online, you need to update it to this version:
Version: 1.06 18-Dec-2008
- added mysql link identifier to each mysql call (for better compatibility if you have another mysql app in your site template, ie: wordpress)
to upgrade from 1.05, replace include-whos-online-header.php and include-whos-online-page.php
Download

Bravo Mike…worked like a charm as always. Thank you.
Do you need me to test anything before your general release?
Jack
Getting there with the new machine…fast as lightning…I never knew wxsim could run so fast…lol!
Jack, in step 4)
did you replace the top-level2.php looks like you did not
make sure you do because it includes some WP 2.7 css for the new comments features
then …
Lets take some time and poke around some pages on your blog and make sure there are no css issues
Jack,
I see one issue with lack of a line break at the top and bottom of the WP content
update your wxblog theme again with this new one: ( updated 10 of the wxblog theme files)

Mike,
What are the new comments features of WP 2.7? Just curious as I upgraded to 2.7 without a problem BUT I don’t run the standard templates.
Tony
Ok, Mike, changed my header too, I use something a little different, seems to look good now.
Jack
Tony,
One of the new features of WP 2.7 is threaded comments, you can enable that in wp-admin, settings, discussion, check “Enable threaded nested comments”
The theme has to support the new feature or it just looks like the old comments. This new wxblog.zip supports it.
Scroll down on this page and you will see threaded comments.

Mike,
Using your instructions, I successfully upgraded from 2.6 to 2.7 without a hitch. One question though…My CSS doesn’t validate from some reason?? http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/validator?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.relayweather.com%2Fwxblog%2F
Can you shed any light on this? Note: This could have been an issue prior to upgrading.
Cheers,
Michael
Michael, did you do step 1?
This is what you need to do:
Step 1) install this new style switcher css set version 1.16 17-Dec-2008: (it is backwards compatible)
http://www.642weather.com/weather/scripts/css-theme-switcher.zip
replace all the css files and the include-style-switcher.php from this zip file to your server in the same directory where your carterlake template is
This old thread should be retired, since wordpress 2.7 and this new wxblog theme
I started a new thread for wordpress 2.7 and this template addon
http://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/37153
Please everybody post in the new thread from now on, thanks
Mike,
My fault…I didn’t do step 1 because I have edited my *.css file and am afraid to upgrade. I will download, compare and add back the items that I need.
Michael
I have been working to update my website to the Ajax/PHP. template. I have it all going except for the blog which I started on tonight. I had a blog on my website before I changed the template. I ran into a couple of issues
-
My blog dashboard says that I should upgrade from 2.6.2 to 2.8.4, but when I do, it says that I am up to date and do not need to upgrade.
-
I went ahead and tried to change my pages to the new template format. It went somewhat OK, but I am getting an error in the blog navigation:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_search_form() in /virtual/users/e15586-16411/web/wordpress/wp-content/themes/wxblog/sidebar.php on line 10The sidebar.php is in th ecorrect directory though.
- It is also missing the footer.php and all my old blogs. Will this be corrected once #2 above is fixed?
Wrdpress 2.7 required changes to the templates.
This is the new thread for it:
For upgrade, start here, follow the step by step carefully.
