I’m haveing a problem trying to get the extended forecast from
noaa I do the test and it does it’s thing says error code 550
and then retries and I get the file but it’s blank nothing in it??
I have checked and rechecked the path and file name all is good
any idea’s???
what have you set for directory path and file name>?

that file does not exist on the server
it must have changed…
try doing a search on their server for a replacement
(click on that link in the ftp download setup in wd)
Have you got 2 periods in the file name? Looks like waz.007.txt. Should be waz007.txt - no?

i managed to get it to work
but i too had problems initialy
re typing in the directory to use and the file name to use, instead of copying/pasting, did the trick
which gets rid of any trailing or leading spaces and any command characters like CR or LF
Well it seems I am getting the file all the time now but when I
set it up to use the forecast5day.gif file in my web page it will
work for awhile then everything goes away except for the background
clouds?? This must be something when WD converts the file??

When the forecast5day.gif file fails to display on the web page look in the FTP download directory you set up in the FTP/Metar download page. Is there a .txt file there? Ascertain the time of the file and what the file contains. The file should be your 5 day forecast.
If the weather service transmits a “TABULAR FORECAST” it may cause the problem. You may determine what is in the file by using the above procedure.
Yes it did say Tabular Forecast…And I have tried both URL’s and they
both do the same…There is a text file and it is all there I was getting a blank file for awhile!
yes, wd expects it to be in a certain format…like this below…any thing else and it wont like it

I think the weather service forecaster (employee) determines the format of the forecast when the forecast is posted. I see both formats used. 
i did another test of using this forecast file, and it came up OK for the forecast image././/
Well I have it downloading the file now but now WD is not making
a new forecast5day.gif file…I deleted the old blank one and no new one is showing up!
now, does it look ok in the program?

do you have it set to do a upload?
it should do that after it downloads the file

Must be the afternoon forecast that is messing things up It is blank again after the 3pm download…I am going to try and just downlaod in the AM

Curious where you found the waz007 for your location. my metar station is KSAF. im trying to do what you did, but i need this to download the txt file. ive looked everywhere. location is santa fe, nm.
