CWOP and WD 37i build 16 not working -> ok now, was firewall

Since up dating to the new WD version my CWOP uploads no longer function. I have checked the “use this server instead” box.

Until updating the vesrion everything worked well.

Any suggestions?

Which version did you upload from? Only there has been a recent change to the CWOP upload target servers, see THIS THREAD for details.

I updated from “h” and was aware of the thread which had been followed.

I have gone back to “h” and that too is not working so wonder if they aren’t having problems of their own.

Roger

I’m using build 16 as well and my data has been uploading fine all day.
Is the data being sent from your PC and not being received or is it just not getting sent?

Mine has been fine for the last 12hrs including updating WD last night. Just checked my CWOP data site.

This is the error log

Nothing gets uploaded.

I went back to an older version on a different computer and that worked fine so it seems the problem is with version “i”
so will have to wait for Windy to see this and hope he has a fix.

So I went back to version “i” and none of my ftp uploads is being completed. See the general log below:

I can ftp to my site using an external program so issue is with WD not my host.

Seems something changed in the ftp

Have you given permission for your updated WD and its FTP to access the Internet in your firewall? Those errors appear to be the result of a firewall blocking updated programs from accessing the internet.

APRS Connecting to: rotate.aprs.net 11004: APRS timer time out...

you should not have it set to use that server like you have done
as that server is not supported any more
its now
cwop.aprs.net

set to use that (or untick to use the server you set, as that new server is used by default)

Bob, I disabled the firewall and it made no difference.

Windy, Until I installed “i” my settings worked fine. In ant case that does not explain why my other ftp uploads from WD fail. The error logs are all shown in an earlier post. I am an amateur operator and do not use the CWOP settings per http://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/30850

While my ftp of the Advanced Internet settings files does not work the upload of Weatherunderground and clientraw files does work.

there is an updated Ftpupd.exe version with the full version install
and so I think the problem then is with your firewall, it might be blocking it, or similar
what firewall do you use?

The firewall I use is BitDefender. It has not given me any problem before and as you will see from a previous post I have disabled it but that has not helped.

The ftp version I used until the last update was 8.77 and that gave me no trouble at all. My issues started with the update to “i”

I cleared out my file of permissions for the firewall and restarted WD so that a new ftp file was included and all now seems to be well.

Thanks for your collective help

Roger

Roger,

I am not familiar with BitDefender myself but ZoneAlarm will pop up an alert when a new version of an application is started and the Paid version I believe allows you to give permission to any single application which will carry over to updated versions of the same application.

You may want to check your documentation and see if BitDefender’s options allow you to specify either behavior.
