Having looked though this board, and having a PLAY!!

Has any on managed to set up this combination ?
And can they help me with an (Idiots guide)?

Hi Wood And

Here is some pics of my solar settings.

Its okay the main screen changed too - you can move and resize the different elements by choosing:

“Setup > Advanced/misc/WD setup” - then tick “Move/resize objects” under “Main Window customise”

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Henrik

Ps. I have modified my solar sensor from Hobby Boards - so the mv output is reduced - see this link:

Hi Henrik,

Thank you for taking the time to help me.

I used your settings to set up WD. And I still do not think I am getting any data from the Solar Sensor.
The cable I am using is (Standard CAT5e RJ45) is this OK, or do I need to modify it?
My sensor was purchase already boxed, do I need to make the electronic modifications that were suggested in your link for it to work?

I have included images of the Com Port settings in case I have made any errors.

Thanks for your Help

What do you have in Control Panel > Dallas 1-Wire Setup > Solar Setup?

You should have the ROM I/D of the solar sensor in the top area and “Use this as my solar sensor” ticked, is this the case?

If not, are you picking up the ROM I/D of the solar sensor in the Dallas 1-Wire Setup main window, click the Reset/Save button and see what comes up in the righthand window.

Hi again

See attached pick fo my setup in Dallas 1-Wire Setup.

Another pic of Dallas 1-Wire settings

I have attached my solarsensor thru Standard CAT5e RJ45.

Best regards,

Henrik

Hi Henrik,

Thanks for your time and the Pictures. I am beginning to fear that my sensor is not working.
Please see images. One before and after reset.

I found a utility with the drivers that found the adapter on com one so I changed it and re started WD
And are there still things I need to set up? for example in my comport settings?
Are my drivers the wrong ones (Dallas Semiconductor Maxim 6.0.1.0)
Which Drivers do you use?

After reset

Do you have OneWireViewer on your PC, it’ll be in the Maxim program file?
If so then activate this and see if there are two sensors detected, the adaptor and the solar. If these are both there then the 1-Wire is working and we can go from there.

Hi Henrik,

Thanks
Having now turned my attention to the Drivers and the DS9490R the problem seems to be in that the DS9490R and its Com port are not be in detected and set up under Vista.
I am now looking across the net for an answer.

Have you any ideas

Try sending a pm to EricVic here…

http://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=1792

He is the support for Hobby-Boards and should be able to help you.

I think this thread should be in the Weather Station Equipment Board…

Also Wood Ant, if you have Vista then have you looked at this thread?

TokKiwi

Thanks for your help.

I have sent a message as suggested, I think I have solved most of the problems with Vista bar this one, that thread is more to do with the account setting, mine are OK.

Good Thought Though

Thanks
Wood Ant

Could I be getting somewhere?
Still no reading though
Please see pictures in this & next post

WD Solar

Good, the OneWireViewer is picking up the solar & adaptor so the system is working.
Looking at the second post with the ROM I/D of the solar sensor, is that also in the right-hand window of the main Dallas page in WD?
If so then it should be showing on you graphs and in the extra sensor pages in WD.

Hello Budgie,

Thanks for the reply.
There still may me a problem as its not showing.
