Barometric pressure forecasting?
« on: January 31, 2008, 08:44:23 PM »
I know next to nothing about weather forecasting, so please bear with me if I sound like an idiot.  I am a fisherman and over the years it has become very apparent to me that the barometric pressure has a direct effect on the feeding habits of fish.  I would like to know if there is anywhere on the WWW that I can find a pressure forecast for my local area.  The best I have been able to find are maps with (L) and (H) on them.  I would like to be able to see, for instance, what the barometer will be doing for the next couple of days so I can plan my fishing accordingly.  Thanks for indulging me.

Have you tried http://www.windfinder.com/forecasts/wind_great_lakes09.htm.
You will have to test it to see how accurate it is inland.
Pretty good here on the coast in South Africa.

Happy fishing

The WXSIM local model www.wxsim.com - a forum on this software is also here at weather-watch.com, http://www.weather-watch.com/smf/index.php/board,36.0.html offers the possibility to show on a graphik like these:

the barometric pressure forecasting (actually not on the image, from an european weather station)

I don't know if there are users from that program on your area - I would ask on the forum if there are, and if yes als ask if they would for you activate the line "barometric pressure" in modul WRET.exe

It is an very accurate model that makes outstanding forecasts in my opinion.

Cheers,

Pere, from Catalonia
