I am running windows 64 and I believe virtual VP and 64bit dont like each other. I am using Virtual Serial Port Emulator, a small cost for the lifetime microsoft licence, dut to the 64 bit particulars. But works seamlessly, even has a command line to have it up and running during the boot up, so it is ready to run the weather programs of the VP2. :o)
