I have been running Virtual VP for a few days and again loaded the latest beta 1.4.2 but during the night it stopped working

My console is USB and as of yesterday morning is via a keyspan usb to ethernet device.
Without any restarts of comms or keyspan I just quit this version and w/s software progs and all is well again.

It did much the same at 10:18 with the older version but this time the program stopped responding?
Any connection that 1st time was 02:18 and now again at 10:18?
Given PC a total restart this time.
Odd things, StartWatch does not delay Virtual VP for 2 mins from start and WeatherDisplay s/w still thinks its getting data when Virtual VP fails in this maner
WeatherLink gives an error & Virtual Weather Station stops updating.
Iām running VirtVp 1.1.4 together with startWatch 1.0.0 and they run totally solidly (touch wood)ā¦The only major difference that I can discern is that I have a SERIAL data logger, as opposed to a USB one which I believe you run.
In the screen shot above you have VVP starting 10 seconds after StartWatch or is that what youāre saying you set to 5 minutes and itās still starting immediately. Some setting in StartWatch require a restart I believe.
I do but that only monitors the output of the app.
Virtual VP gets stuck for me saying no incoming com port

Adding calc did not help, Virtual VP still did not wait and load direct ofter calc.
Deleted all items from startup sequence and just put Virtual VP back and again no delay
I still need to read through and digest this thread, but one thing that comes to mind quickly is that it is best to set up StartWatch in the following manner:
Define a port monitor that monitors one of VVPās TCP/IP ports. In StartWatch youād set up a monitor on IP address 127.0.0.1, port 5514
Have StartWatch start VVP first.
Have all your weather programs that connect through VVP start based on the port monitor defined above. When VVP has completed its initialization and is ready to serve data, the port monitor will finally connect successfully, and that will kick off the startup of the weather programs. In my setup, I have the weather programs set up with that port monitor as the trigger event, and then stagger their startups with increasing delays so theyāre not all starting and trying to initialize at the same time.
Not sure about that file access issue. There are only one or two files that VVP writes to. Iāll have to look into that.
I do have the other apps only start when Virtual VP outbound ports start up but the program only seems to check at startup for the inbound port and if it does not exist thats your lot.
See 1st attached screen dump.
I have found a solution / work-around to this however.
Created a monitor port for my ADSL Router on 192.168.178.1 Port 80
Virtual VP does wait the two minutes requested after this is active and thus Virtual VP can load okay followed by the other apps.
See 2nd attached screen dump.
Now just back to orignal problem of the file access errors
