Windows Vista & Microsoft LifeCam VX-6000

Anyone else have issues with this camera?

I’ve tried using it as my webcam numerous times.
Nothing but hassles. Installed, uninstalled too many times.
Brand new system too. My yukky Creative Cam works fine
with the system and with WD Webcam Program, but the
LifeCam has issues.

TY!

Tony,

I am running a VX6000 with Vista Home Basic (my Jukebox machine) and I am not having any issues with it at all. I have also run it on Vista Home Premium without any issues…

Other then the Cam sucks compared to my Logitech Pro 5000 which i need to get in service in place of the VX6000…

there is a fair bit of fiddling needed with the settings for the light/contrast settings to get it looking OK
also the driver for it does seem to take over your pc a bit, wanting to open applications when it detects the camera is plugged in…thats what I have found
(and I have a problem with a HP printer driver which goes though a painfull routine every time the pc starts update saying its not installed properly (but it works fine), and I cant close or finish that at the end, so I just move that window off the screen as much as possible…how bads that, LOL

Well all the fiddling I can think of and no matter what, I just dont
wanna run for very long. Using the latest and supposedly greatest
drivers from Microsoft for it, and Web Cam version 7.3 and lucky if it
runs for a day before it goes DOA.
