TOPIC FOR POSTING WINDROSE GRAPHICS

Sticky'd this topic for a place to post Windrose Graphic Packages.

I plan on posting a number of them.  Others are welcome to do the same to collect them in one place.

The idea is to keep the discussion about the packages in another topic so it is easy to find new packages without wading through the discussion threads...

Discussion about them can go here:

I have released my Wind Direction Graphics Generator for everyone here to use:
http://www.642weather.com/weather/scripts-wind-graphics.php

You can create wind direction graphics that are compatible with Ken True's Ajax Dashboard PHP script and his Free Weather Website Templates. It makes the 17 images that represent the 16 common compass positions of E, ENE, ESE, N, NE, NNE, NNW, NW, S, SE, SSE, SW, W, WNW, WSW and an image representing Calm.

It has many features like colors and styles. For sites with background colors other than white, you can even set a background color in hex code or transparent.

It instantly generates the images and an animated gif sample,
then you can click on a zip file to download them

Here is an animated gif sample of what it makes:

So now you all have something new to play with   :D :)

I added a new feature to the windrose generator:
http://www.642weather.com/weather/scripts-wind-graphics.php

Version: 1.02  02-May-2008 added 'Image Prefix' feature to support multi-language templates,
now you can generate image sets with a custom image prefix, ie: wr-en, wr-dk, wr-es, etc.

I've created a set of graphics to go with the Windrose set.  If anyone is interested I will upload the set of them.  They are all 58x58 png images.  I also have them in gif.  Sample included.  You can see them working on my site.

Ditto on the Nice Job! I also like your fire danger icons on your dashboard, a copy of those would really be appreciated!

Thanks!  I'll zip them up tonight when I get home from work and either attach them here or make them available on my site.  Glad you like them.

Look nice...

Are you sure the arrow is pointing the right direction though?

The mistake I made with mine was that the arrow was pointing towards the direction when normally the value is from that direction.

If you look at the top post of this topic and Michaels after it, you can see the difference.

All you need is Time, Aptitude and Desire ... and you can build just about anything...

Yeah I see that now.  Will have to see if I can change it to just an arrowhead pointing in then... I guess I set it up more like a compus.  #-o  Good thing I save the originals!

Ok, I've fixed the graphics arrow to point correctly now!  I've attached the images in two zip files, one contains the .GIF version and the other the .PNG version.  If you like them and use them drop me a note with your site!  Thanks
