This is the second night at 24:00

Hello,

This is the second night at 24:00… that WD crash at midnight.
I’m using v9.88e…

What should I do…

Have a nice day…

I reported the same problems with 9.88d… Brian is looking into it.

I had a similar problem and reported. When I rolled back to 9.85 it still happens. I am dealing remotely so I haven’t been able to do any further work…so I am hoping for a new release that fixes before Friday when I can refresh it.

I was getting a message about Floating point error and then one indicating that it was unable to write the WDISPLAY.INI file.

yes, its a hard one to find the reason for…
hopefully soon
but you can turn that off, under the web upload times…
but sitll recreate the August2003.htm file later, via, view, averages/extreme…
strange, as I dont remember changing anything here…

beru beru, does, action, update averages/extreme make it crash?
you could try this to help me pin point while file:

exit wd
back up your datafiles folder
then delte all files there
then restart wd, then do the action, update averages/extreme now

if still crash, then repeat this for the logfiles folder
then if still crash, then repeat for the webfiles folder

once we know which folder the suspect file is in, then we will need to pinpoint which file is at fault

the files used are:
August2003.htm in the web files folder
month82003.inf, latest.inf, week2.inf in the datafiles folder
82003lg.txt, in the logfiles folder and dailylog.txt too

(example are for august)
and the wdisplay.ini file from c:\winnt or c:\windows

good luck!

82003.txt and dailylog.txt files were updated a that time
before that couldnt open the menus

hope we have the right subjects located now

removed

yes, its seems to be a file in the logfiles folder…
i.e
82003lg.txt
or
82003lg2.txt
or dailylog.txt

so we have 3 people being affected now…

Brian, I am also having the crash at 12:04 am local. I seem to remember reading this last year around the same time where it was something to do with the log file. I don’t believe it was resolved except when the month turned to September it went away. Just a thought and rememberance.

In ‘averages/extremes for the month’ there is 3 times the 28th of august:

28 14.9

i think i know how to clamp this bug…(it has not affected me)
ed, zip and email me your 82003lg.txt log file…

ok coming up
let me know if not arrived

thanks being so fast again, Brian !

not fast
i have should have nailed this sucker by now

well, in a lifetime its ! LOL
and thinking about most helpdesks…

Please let me know when this is fixed… I , too am having WD crash at 0006. Thank you!

Yes, here also midnight crash since last night.

Using version 9.88b with LaCrosse WS2010.

just to help me narrow this down, can you guys back up and then delete a heap of lines from the start of from your 82003lg.txt (open in notepad to do that)
file from the logfiles
OR
your
August2003.htm
file from the webfiles folder
(do one or the other…i.e one person try one , the other person try the other trick

i have increased the array size for the August2003.htm file
that might help there
and I have now put a limit on the daily rain array so that it does not go out of range (which puts the program into a never ending its an eror loop)
(i will upload that fix now)

guys, please try vers 9.89e
http://www.weather-display.com/download/wdisplay32.exe

thanks
fingers crossed

Brian,

I have downloaded 9.89e.
At 0.04 WD is crashed :frowning:
