Startwatch and Weatherlink

I had Weatherlink hang last night and Startwatch tried to start it but failed. The problem seems to be that the dialog box asking to send debug data to Microsoft is waiting for the user to click OK. When I clicked “Don’t Send” this morning, Startwatch was able to restart Weatherlink. This defeats the utility of Startwatch. How can I get around that problem?

Unless you really want to send Microsoft information (which I personally wouldn’t recommend) you can disable that behaviour in windows:

Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of windows
Right click on the “My Computer” icon
Select “Properties” from the menu that pops up
In the System Properties window that opens, click on the “Advanced” tab
Click on the “Error Reporting” button
Select “Disable error reporting”
Click the “Ok” button
Click the “Ok” button on the “System Properties” window

I can also look into what StartWatch can do to defeat that Microsoft popup, but it may be difficult since it is generated by the operating system, not the program, and so is not directly linked to the program. However, if you have a computer that is running unattended 24x7, that feature of Windows is counter-productive.

Excellent. Thank You!! I’ll get that crap disabled. May want to make a note in the User’s manual, because it does impede the functionality of the Startwatch.
