Can someone make a reccomendation for a good PCI DVR/Capture card? I see many 25fps boards cheap, but it looks like 25fps is shared across all 4 ports.
I think I am looking for somethign better, assuming I do not have to mortgage the house again! I figure once I get the card in place, I can start selecting my first cam to attach, and figure out how I am going to mount it!
I’m not a video expert, but I don’t think that frames per second is the biggest concern for a camera to do what you are trying to do.
The expense will be with the camera. Good cameras can be expensive.
Most of the CCTV stuff that I’ve messed with are okay for picture quality. They are more for monitoring than capturing great looking pictures. Of course I’m playing with fairly inexpensive cameras (less than $140ea).
If you are going to spend $2k on a camera, you will most likely get a very nice looking picture. The video card frame rate won’t make much of a difference to that.
