Custom Screens & Custom Tags HELP!!

I am trying to set up a custom screen in WD 10.36g and have run out of custom tags to display. The menu only shows 27 custom tags and the screen I am working on has about 35. I know there must be a way to add more than 27 tags to a screen but I have been looking for 2 hours and can not figure it out. Here is the screen I have created of course the blanks are where I need the additional tags.

Sorry for asking such a simple question that I should have been able to figure out. #-o

Wow! that is impressive 8O

I think the 27 tags on the menu is the maximum at the moment. Perhaps Brian thought that would be plenty?
No doubt he can add some more for you.

Again, that is a very good example of a customscreen.

Hi
great work there!, very nice
have you seen where you can get the custom screen to have special animation effects too?

OK, yes, that is the limit, but I can add more…so you need 8 more?
i also need to add more for the main screen too…
i will add both in the next day or so

Thanks for the compliment. This is my first stab at a custom screen and I wanted to do something a little different.
Thanks to Brian and Weather Display for providing the capabilities to do so. No other weather software comes close.

Thanks

Brian

Thanks for the quick response and I appreciate you adding more tags to the custom screens.

Yes I have seen the special animation effects, Fantastic!! I will be doing a custom screen using
the animation next I wanted to do this static screen just to get a feel for doing a custom screen.

Again thanks for your help. I know it is a never ending task keeping up with a program such as WD and
appreciate your willingness to add features and upgrades so readily. I also own VWS and WeatherView
software and I can honestly say neither one comes anywhere close to matching Weather Display in
features and or support.

Thanks

Hi
i have added 3 more:
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherD.zip
at this stage, will add the other 5 in next 24 hours or so

note:
new: you need to enable move/resize (before it was just enable resize), via the right mouse click…
move is now shift/mouse move (dont hold down the left mouse), like the main screen customisation
also, note, the extra 3 custom tags are only available in WD itself…the auto generated web image i still need to add too
(the wife had me helping around the house and in the garden today,so has not been much time to work on it)

Sam,

Are you willing to share? Very nice image.

Tim

Thanks, here is a link to the files. If you have any problems or questions please let me know.

Sam,

I about got it. I have a few questions.

How did you get the cloud base picture?

Which tags did you use for rain rain in both extreme and rain sections?

How did you get your header?

www.thanko.info/customscreen3.jpg

there is custom images that you can set to be any image (e.g the cloud height image)

this update adds more custom tags for the main screen (5 more)

Tim

Your screen is looking good. Under extreme conditions for the rain rate I used the tag %maxrainrate% (Max rain rate, for the day, mm/min( or in/min). Then under the rainfall section I used two tags the first is %currentrainrate% (current rain rate, mm/min (or in/min) and %currentrainrateht% (current rain rate, mm/hr ( or in/hr). On the wind direction dail I used the directiondial.gif. As for the header I used photoshop to create that. If you send me the wording you want for your heading I will be gald to insert that for you. Hope this helps.

Sam,

Almost. I used the %stationname% to fill in the header. Still got a square peg in a round hole, though.

What image did you use for the wind speed?

Brian,

Is the %stationname% tag from Control Panel…Web files/Web page…Real Time Client FTP tab?

yes,
or you might be right, from the clientraw setup…

Tim

Your almost there. You have the correct dial but you need to make it transparent. Go to control panel then web files /web page Realtime FTP/WDL and click on it then select Individual dial images/temp panel setup. Once here check the box beside (have individual dail images transparent). This should remove the square box from the wind direction dail. Also I noticed you header is not showing up send me the text and I will add it to the header and send it back to you. On a different note I see on your website that you have some photos. Photography is another hobby of mine here is a website of mine that has photos I have taken of Radio Controlled Airplanes. I have about 300+ photos to post from shows that I shot this year but just have not had the time, maybe over the next month or so.

Sam,

Got everything now except the header. I don’t think it is resizing as it should.

I’ll ask Brian about it.

I’ve done a lot of photography in the last 15 years or so, mostly in the west from Arizona to Alaska.

My trip from September this year is posted at: www.thanko.info/west2006/phpslideshow.php?west2006. There is a lot of junk in here yet that has to be weeded out, but my journal is first on the list.

Brian,

I used the %stationname% tag in the header here: www.thanko.info/customimage3.jpg. I set the font to 36 point I think. Although I can see the entire header in the layout and save it that way, when I upload the image the tag seems to revert to default size. This is the one tag with shadow text.

ah,ok, i will check on why that tag is not working for width setting for the web image
also, if you select the custom screen to use gif instead of jpg, the size of the file will be much smaller, and it still should look ok

for the shadow tag
