Hi all. Does someone know what is the equipment I need to make a correct forecast? I have a WMR968 Oregon Scientific weather station and Weather Display soft from Brian. If I buy a solar sensor (and/or a soil temperature and humidity sensor) and if I can connect via internet with a METAR station within 50 km, would I be able to make a good forecast? Are a cloud sensor and a snow depth sensor taken care of by WxSim?

WXSIM does not currently make use of cloud or snow depth sensors, but that certainly sounds interesting as a possibility for the future. I’ll have to find out more about that!
WXSIM’s accuracy is perhaps more a function of ingested model data (usually the GFS) and your choices in running it, than of having extra sensors. It certainly helps to have the METAR or synoptic data, which WXSIM routinely reads and which can be quickly gathered using WXSIMATE.
