Strange Cloud Formation - NorCal

Posted some pictures I took today of a strange cloud formation. Anybody have an idea what might cause these? Kinda look like lenticular clouds maybe…

it is a wave pattern, but one that has been set up due to processes other than mountain ranges
often to do with an approaching weather system/warm front, or a jet stream passing through the area, or similar to that…

Interesting, thanks for the explanation Brian. When I first glanced at the clouds I thought it might be a contrail from a jet, but after looking at them for a minute it was obviously not that #-o

Just got this in my email:

First time they have used a picture I sent them…guess they found the wave cloud as intriguing as I did…

They’ve probably found a way to make the clouds spell a rude word

But then due to the FCC’s current posture (HUA) they would be obliged to blur it

Googling for FCC and HUA didn’t turn up anything useful.

HUA - Hairy Underwear Agreement? Happy Underwater Aviary? Or a misspelling of Tim’s HOA?

Oh, sorry, it was common somewhere I used to work “head up ***”

ISWYM

Huh? :? :frowning:

Google is your friend
