NOAA Forecast Down load

I have WD down loading my local weather. What folder should go into for it to appear on my webpage. Do I have to edit?

There is a button that allows you to select the ftp directory on the setup page. My stuff is downloaded to the wdisplay directory. No, you do not need to edit the zone file.

I have it set up like that. Where it says to select five day forecast I open that window and select the file and click open. But it is still not uploading to my wenpage.

which is not updating on web page…5 day forecast or the text forecast or?

The five day forecast which is a text forecast from local NOAA station It is in the directory of WD but maybe in the wrong place?

do you want the 5 day graphic image on your web site?
(i.e the one you see when you click on the icon on the main screen (as long as you have selected a 5 day forecast to download and you have selected that file to use)…and then when you view that 5 day forecast after clicking on the main screen icon, then use the menu items on that screen to set to upload to your web site (as 5dayforecast.gif)
or you can tick to include the downloaded text file in your web site (default WD web site), by ticking that option in the noaa ftp download…(or there are custom tags you can use to insert that text file into say a custom web page)

Ok here is what I have setup. On the noaa forecast download I have it set to d/l every 10 minutes. I have it set to use the text file in WD directory from my local noaa. On the 5 day graphic image on the upload to website. I have the first yes ticked in that menu and then I have the upload icons ticked yes too. It still does not appear on my website when it updates.

Is this what your looking for…http://webpages.charter.net/wxspotter/forecast5day.gif

So it’s being created but not inserted on your webpage? Not sure why it’s not there, maybe try updating the html and see if it shows up. Otherwise you could just add code to your datahtm3.txt.

Yes that is what I want to show up on my web site. I clicked on the html button but it didnt show on my webpage[quote author=NorCal Dan link=topic=17372.msg134970#msg134970 date=1153163650]

As far as code I dont know how to do that.

Try putting this code in your html file where you want the image to appear…

<CENTER><img src="forecast5day.gif"></img></CENTER>

That did the trick. Just noticed in the box for Friday it cut some the forecast out.

Any way to fix the forecast for Friday?

can you post a link to it…?
(the more information the better)

That can happen when the forecast wording gets rather verbose. The text can get truncated.

ftp://weather.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/zone/tn/
My area is tnz015.txt

.FRIDAY…PARTLY CLOUDY. A 30 PERCENT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGHS IN THE LOWER 90S.

Hmmm…not sure as it doesn’t look too wordy. I think I’ve had this happen for me on occasion but couldn’t figure out why. Maybe some strange formatting was in the zone text?? :?

what I meant was a link to the url to the 5 day forecast gif image on your web site…

http://webpages.charter.net/wxspotter/

or
http://webpages.charter.net/wxspotter/forecast5day.gif

can you email me that downloaded noaa file used?
(i.e tnz015.txt)
and I will try here
(but have to go to the dentist, sinusitus, after having a cold (the whole family has had it (the 4 year old i had to take to the doctor yesterday with an ear infection (its winter time here, bug city))
