Is there any update on this report?
I have a similar problem, using WD 10.36g, Davis VP2 + Soil/Moisture Sensors, etc.
When I am plotting the soil temp #1 on this graph, it periodically shows positive spikes that give a reading of 9027.1 F when you move the cursor over the spike on the graph.
I know there is no such spike from the soil temp sensor, becauase the Davis desktop station shows no unusual maximum readings and when I go to Averages/Extremes it shows what I would expect as the maximum soil tem for the day: 64.9 F.

Most of these issues were corrected or explained by emails with Brian. My readings were permanently off or labeled wrong. Someone else can answer to the spike.
