Weather Wiki Challenge

A number of people have commented that it would be useful to have an online manual for WD. Well here’s your chance to participate in making the manual useful.

I’ve started the process of taking the original WD Help Manual from http://www.tokaanuskihire.co.nz/wdhelp/index.shtml and moving it to the Weather Wiki at http://www.weather-watch.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page. An advantage of having it in a Wiki is that anyone who wants to can add to the manual, update any page with additional information that they found useful when carrying out the operation described on the page or correcting mistooks that exist on the page.

This is where you come in. We need…

  1. Some Wiki experts to do some of the things that I’ve failed to do when transferring the text, e.g. inserting images and ‘button images’. I’m sure I will work out how to do these kind of things, but an expert can probably do it in next to no time!

  2. Anyone else who feels that have something to offer to have a go at editing, updating, enhancing, correcting the existing pages or providing new content if they want to. You can link to existing content, e.g. the Forum FAQs or to other resources. Don’t worry if you can’t get the grammar or spelling quite right, if the content you add is correct and relatively easy to follow, others will probably correct minor discrepancies over time.

This isn’t a rush to get it finished in 10 minutes, or even 10 weeks. If you have a few minutes to spare, have a go at adding something to the overall knowledgebase for WD and hopefully in time we’ll end up with a great resource that new (and experienced) WD users can use.
