I don't know which city/state/country you're interested in so it's hard to make a recommendation for where to look for the info.. would you mind letting us know a bit more details?

NOAA has a database from their Coop observers. The guys with the Stevenson screens and rain gauges where they call their local NWS office each day and report...Try doing a search of NOAA + your city. Or you can just email them. They will probably send you the link.
