Weather Display for Mac / Re: Removing Wind Run from Main Screen
« Last post by Hugh Whalen on Today at 12:49:43 PM »
Overnight the problem fixed itself.

I didn't change a thing. When I went to bed last night, it was still overwriting. When I looked at it this morning, it was fixed.

The program did not reboot overnight.

I don't understand it at all, but all seems well now.

I use version 3.9 myself without this problem
that version has been available since January
but I have not seen any other similar reports of a problem
so not sure exactly why you are getting an error

you could try resetting the directory location where its looking for the time stamped files maybe
also you could try deleting all the time stamped files it uses (and so let them get recreated)

Custom Templates and Scripts / Recover from power outage.
« Last post by Yendor on Today at 07:39:17 AM »
We experienced a major power failure when baleage wrap blew into high tension lines. Upon restarting my computer I found my WD configuration all messed up. I went into my backups and replaced the ini file but I am still showing a not current message on my website for the weather data time and for the weather data files. Can anyone point me in the right direction to resolve this? I see the error under the status tab.

and so its showing the incorrect north reading on the console too?

My anemometer did that once. The set screw that holds the vane to the shaft had come loose. Tightened it up and it is still working, 14 yrs so far, but I know I'm pushing my luck, so purchased a new one. Have the old pro2 rebuilt and have a spare again.

I know how frustrating it can be.

Chatter / Re: Dismal weather locations

Those grey dismal skies run all the  way up into SE Ak.   From Seattle up to Alaska it just one  long temperate rain forest.   Ketchikan gets 160 inches an year   Prince Rupert around 100 and   Bella Coola is another high rainfall area.  Queen Charolette sound seem to be the northern converged zone where the Puget sound area is the southern  one for that area.

WD Bug Reports / Moviemaker issue since it was updated in 10.37SBuild14
« Last post by ebonzl on April 28, 2017, 11:00:06 PM »
Hi Brian,

The new Moviemaker.exe shows errors and fails to create any video - noticed it a while back and switched to using the old version pre 10.37SB14. I thought it may have been an OS issue, but have changed this recently and upgraded WD again but this has not made any difference. I have noticed that the moviemakerlog.txt file shows date compare issues - see extract below:

Will create last day video
10:33:13 a.m. 04/29/2017
Movie Maker mp4 vers 3.9
Looking for images files between hours 9 and 10
File date error 09:00 : file time/date 12/30/1899, current time/date 04/29/2017
File date error 09:01 : file time/date 12/30/1899, current time/date 04/29/2017
File date error 09:02 : file time/date 12/30/1899, current time/date 04/29/2017
File date error 09:03 : file time/date 12/30/1899, current time/date 04/29/2017
File date error 09:04 : file time/date 12/30/1899, current time/date 04/29/2017........

I don't think the actual  timestamped files are at fault as have checked manually, and if I swap in the old version of moviemaker.exe WD creates videos with them just fine.

Currently running on 10.37Sb47 on Windows 10

Any thoughts?

Kind regards,

Ian.

WD Feature Suggestions / Re: WS-1001 data direct to WD?

PD: I promise to revise the orthography and punctuation... I wrote it very fast and now I am realizing that it has a lot of mistakes.

WD Questions / Re: Solar anomalies in WD
« Last post by Weather Display on April 28, 2017, 08:11:26 PM »
I think Niko is correct
because in checking my code in WD for handling the solar data, I put in there that if the reading is over 2000 for 2 data points in a row, then WD set the reading to 0
which explains the zero readings after a spike
