Finally!

I'm not seeing anything on the map but I heard a faint rumble and....

(So, that's like <15 miles... Radar shows some yellow stuff about 10 miles away... this whole front is like 3 states wide with lightning and tornadoes)

I think I'll have to adjust my counts down from 50 to say.... 20. Looks like that'll take care of most storms.

Sorry for resurrecting this topic, but I was wondering...

Tom,

Do you think it is possible to have a warning, like you have on your page when lightning is close, using the lightning data that is provided by AllisonHouse (which is an addition for the GRLevel3 radar software)?

This would really be a neat feature, in my opinion.

Thanks.

The problem is.... the data I use for my warnings is in text format. The data from Allison House is in GIS format. The trick would be finding some way to tell the software where the lightning is in relation to whatever location you want the warning for. Sounds like a very difficult to code - custom application.

Tom,

Could you somehow get the text file from Tyler at AllisonHouse (ultimately from USPLN) that plots the lightning icons?

Not legally.  :D

The other problem is that it's in GIS gibberish.
