The telescoping pole would be found in the birdhouse section. It will be sold in a 3 Ft long white with purple writing box labeled, "Purple Martain House pole." The pole has 4 of these sections. What you do is, the pole sections slide into each-other. And there are a set of lock pins included. These slip into the channels on the sides. And when the station is mounted, you can raise it and when you need to take it down, pull out the pins and lower it. The instructions say to use concrete, but if you tether it, this isn't nessisary. For my backyard, there was alreasy a concrete hole from an old fence post that I was able to take advantage of. One other thing I have done with mine for safety, if if you tether it, take some string and a steak, tie the other end of the string to the pins, that way if the winds get too high the string pulls the pins out and the station can lower to a safer height. The steel fence post can be found in the cross wire fence area under the buildings roof around the pool supplies area. They also sell other hardware there than can be helpfull in the setup process. The steel fence poles have slide in ends. The steel pole will become unstable if to high. The top of the telescoping pole has an outside diameter of 1-2 inches so find a fence post that measures close to this. You might need some 3 inch long deck screwes to tighten it.
