the wires coming out the bottom, do you have them connnecting to a
DS9490R USB 1-Wire Adapter  such as at this link

I use the RS-232 version of that link. But you can use either.

You Bought "XXX" for what? and then you bought the Flash for that for how much?

She "Loves" WD and so does "Mum in Law" and even better "My Mum" she thinks the Web cam is the greatest thing since cheese spread  LOL

The "Boss" just doesn't understand why two of everything  LOL (including a back up La Crosse)

But Credit where Credit is due...  She shakes her head, says "How Much"...  "Why" and with enough Begging, explaining, and adding to the web site, she *sighs* and says Ok BUT that water faucet that has been leaking better be fixed "THIS" weekend  LOL

-Bob

Edit:  All those "LOL" are nervous laughs hoping she never sees these posts  Oyyyyyyyyyyyyyy  ;)

Well there are "Two" Bosses...

One that Pays the Money and one that Spends and allows me to spend...

The one that "allows me to spend" is the one I have to worry about seeing the posts...  The one that "Pays the Money" well she will just blackmail me if she sees these  LOL

Just wanted to let everyone know that I ordered the Lightning board from Hobby-Boards last Saturday, I think, and it got here today in the mail.  I did order the assembled one :)

Thanks for the prompt fulfillment Eric.

Now that is 1/3 of the equation, the 1-wire adaptor has not yet arrived which is another 1/3 and then putting it al together properly is the last, and most difficult, 1/3  LOL

In my case I ordered the one-wire adapter and the lightning detector kit on the same day - a week ago Saturday. I got the adapter on Monday and I'm still waiting for the kit!  It supposedly shipped Monday Priority mail from Alabama so maybe I'll get it today as well...or tomorrow. You're a little closer to the source!

According to the invoice, the Maxim USB adapter shipped 3-day FedEx directly from the Philipines!!

Ok I am sitting here looking at this nice little board and I can figure out where the attenna lead gets connected...

I can figure out where the ground gets connected...

Now that leaves two connectors One of which I know is "Data" the center connector, the right is another Ground?

Also I was planning on using CAT5 cable, but which wire gets connected to the center and which to the right (or does the right go somewhere else yet?

In searching I believe that the "Left most" wire when viewing the connector pointing away from you should be the Data and the "Right most" the other?    Gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

So what wiring does everyone else use and HOW exactly does this thing get wired  LOL

Its marked on the PCB     - DQ, D GND, E GND

DQ - data
D GND - data ground
E GND - earth ground

Hello Colin and others...

This is where I get to show my almost absolute ignorance about hardware... Oyyyy

Ok I get... Earth Ground that will go to a spike driven deep into the ground which is standard ground...

Data is what needs to end up in the computer  LOL

Now... Where does "D GND - data ground" go?  Does it connect to the USB 1-wire connector, get split off before and connected to the actual computer box?

The Data wire needs to end up on what post when plugged into the USB 1-wire adaptor, far left or far right AND will CAT 5 cable and connector work for this?

OR do I have this all wrong and need to use Coax or something else?

Thanks for putting up with my Dohhhh questions...
