What zone do you have in the NOAA Warning tab in WD? Is it "CTZ001" or "#CTZ001." ?

CTZ001   And this is using the New York state listings since this is the area that serves my part of Connecticut.   This should be changed to #CTZ001 ?

I tried changing it to #CTZ001 and I get no warning at all under the New York pulldown, but using the #CTZ001 under the Connecticut pulldown I get a short term forecast instead of a winter storm warning.

How to setup NOAA Warnings

You must select the correct state.

When I select Connecticut and "#CTZ001."    .... I get a Winter Storm Warning

Just playing around with this today also....
Went back and forth between my PAZ011 & #PAZ011.
Without the # & . I didn't get the scroll to come up with my special weather statement.
It does come up with #PAZ011.

By the way carterlake - did you get my IM yesterday (unrelated topic)?

I PMed back... sorry

Anyway... yeah, I guess I never went back and put a link to the NOAA Warning FAQ in this thread... so I better fix that.  #-o

I was experimenting with various combinations of settings and stumbled on using CT as the state and #CTZ001.  as the zone.  I had been missing the "period" at the end of the zone.  Everything works now.  BTW, that FAQ is new to me.  I wish I had seen that earlier.

My county in Connecticut still gets its forecasts from the New York office, and there are times that there is a difference and delay in setting up warnings compared to what the rest of Connecticut shows.  Anyway, at least I've got something working now.  Thanks!

Good to hear it!

(By the way, there's good stuff in that FAQ section. I recommend it to everyone.)

What starts the wx4 and wxlocal4.html into being created other than checking them off in the customise and upload screen?

Actually creating the file.  :D

(That screen is just for uploading the file. You have to make it first.)

Well, that's what I half thought - the only one I need create is a blank wxlocal4.html is it not?

If you create a blank wxlocal4.html... you'll end up with a blank wx4.html

It doesn't have to be wx4.html... it could be any web page you want... that was just my particular solution...

I've noticed an interesting thing of late:  NOAA is using ADVISORIES, OUTLOOKS and WARNINGS.  The Javascript correctly picks up all three (and maybe more that I missed) and scrolls them correctly on my web page.  However, the link to which it jumps when you click on the scroll does not change for the different types of warnings and thus will sometime call up the wrong NOAA page for the type of warning.  How are others dealing with this?

Thanks!
Tom

The problem is your link. You're telling NOAA that you just want to see hazardous outlooks.

You're linking to:

http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/warnings.php?wfo=lox&zone=CAZ047&pil=LAXHWOLOX&productType=HAZARDOUS%20WEATHER%20OUTLOOK

You should be linking to:

http://www.crh.noaa.gov/showsigwx.php?warnzone=CAZ047&warncounty=CAC037&local_place1=Granada Hills
