It certainly don't look like he's using Weather Display at all there. :)

I am not using WD. I think it costs to much. I use to be able to use it on a site but it is not working. Thanks

The code posted is for those using Weather Display, which is what these forums are here to support...

You would need to find another solution that grabbed NOAA Alerts and warnings and parsed them for display on your web site if not using WD...

... which you aren't going to be able to do on a freeware webserver.

Is there a means of persuading the script to recognise the Atlantic and Caribbean Hurricane advisories/warnings?

Those are RSS feeds and I use this to grab them during the season...

You can see my offseason one in the left navigation of my Weather Site:

One other thing someone may want to consider would be signing up for the NHC email alerts and using a script to parse them...

Bob

Your first suggestion is the more attractive. What I would like is to be able to do automatically is two things (1)get a marquee or box that changes background colour when there is a tropical storm watch, and changes again when it intensifies (2) display the appropriate warning flags.  Not being much of a programmer I am playing other people's efforts to see if I can adapt those ideas to be my solution but as I am using the CarterLake template I am getting a bit out of my depth in trying to make things fit. I am looking with interest at the solution he suggests for the other post about handling marine warnings.

The full text idea would be a nice add on but that can always be reached through a link.  I do get the NHC emails during the season and the ability to automatically parse the info would save me having to copy and paste.
