xml data in Firefox
« on: December 07, 2004, 09:06:50 PM »
I've set up a test web page using the wdfulldata.xml data feed. It works fine in IE but not in Firefox. Any suggestions anyone? I wrote it using MS Frontpage - maybe that was my first mistake
The page is here at www.larsenz.com/mambo/weather/weather2.html
Thanks

Cheers, Colin.

I think the simple answer is that at the moment remote linking to XML data ONLY works in IE as it uses Microsoft data binding.

Mozilla have not found a way to do this yet I believe unless anyone can correct me.

Other sites using XML feeds this way state it will only work in IE.

Also, remote XML ONLY displays if ALL your visitors lower their security settings in IE.

Been there. Tried that.

So in theory then if I save my web page as a somethingorother.txt in WD and change all the xml tags to straight WD tags and get WD to upload that it should work    #-o 8)   ?

in other words, a custom page?

generated by custom tags in wxlocal.html so that WD uploads as wx.html with all the current data values filled in?

Yup that would work.
