Regarding my website: Deputydawgwx.com: half way down on the left where the USA Extreme data is there are a bunch of errors. Looks like the link is bad. Does anyone know what the current link for this is?
Also while I was checking this I ran across a web url that will check versions of my various PHP modules:
Many were outdated. The page was creates summer of 2015 and I have never updated. How serious is this? How hard is it for a non scripting person to update? I can get the new modules from the Saratoga-weather site, but obviously if I replace them all customization is gone. I guess I could make a copy of the production versions one at a time replacing the customized values with the new template?
Thoughts?
Or if there is someone that would like to (for a fee of course) update my site or show me how that would be great as well.
I understand your concern! I purchased ‘Compare It!’ several years ago, and it has saved me countless headaches when upgrading my modified Saratoga and other scripts. There’s a moderate learning curve, but it’s well worth it. One indispensable aspect of this program is that it ignores white space rather than marking every white-space variation between files as a ‘difference’.
Use ‘Compare It!’ with confidence that you can preserve your customizations while you incorporate updates into the script. I run most of Ken True’s updates through ‘Compare It!’ just to be sure I’m not hosing some changes I’ve made for whatever reason.
One caveat is to be sure to inspect VERY carefully the new (Left script) and the old code (Right script) BEFORE you click to ‘import’ it thus overwriting that portion of the old script you’re updating. Some changes are small but they can be important. Fortunately the differences are well-highlighted.
Btw anyone have the new URL for the USA Extreme stuff:

On my web page it errors with:
Warning: file(http://www.wunderground.com/climate/extremes.asp): failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.0 500 Internal Server Error in /home3/paul/public_html/usaextremes.php
When you said: “I have v4.03 of the script dated 13-Oct-2016” - which script are you referring to?
