Difference in Zip update and Full install

Hi Brian,

There is a difference in the WD Zip update (is ver. 10.37S54) and Full install (is ver. 10.37S56)
Is it not possible to change with Zip update?

Brgds,
Oebel

there has not been enough people using the full install often enough I have found (and so they have been missing out on some of the files that have been updated)

Ok

Brian,

I did not know that either.

Could I make a suggestion. Add in the main download page a bold message on how you should update WD. I see WD-FAQ has a link that was created by snowman.

Maybe say in bold: Weather Display install file version# is the one that should be used for normal program updating

Thanks Brian.

but it does not need to be used every time

now is a good chance for people to do a full update

So how do we know exactly when is a good time to use the full update??

now is a good time

Brian…Ok…Against better judgement, I did the Full install and can no longer run.

I get the following error “weatherdisplay.exe-Entry Point Not Found The procedure entry point _except_handler4_common could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll”

Seems I had this in the past and you had me go BACK to a version 51 i believe and said to ONLY use the “WD Zip Update” file.

Can you get me back up and running again?

Thanks

Running on Windows Server 2003

you could try using the build 81 full download
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/wdisplay32build81.exe
and then if you use the normal full install but install to a different location and then try copying the .exe files to the normal location

Worked out fine…I think a CAVEAT needs to be added for those of us running on older platforms to use the “Install to different location and copy only the EXE files to normal location”. I did not lose any old data or installed devices…but gave my old heart a STRESS TEST. Thanks again Brian…I need to send more funds for your Beer Hand. Lol
