WU ending NOAA radio streaming

And… a few hobbyists have created http://noaaweatherradio.org/ to fill the gap

See the thread on WXForum.net. If you had a NWR stream you were contributing to Wunderground, please consider changing it to add it to the noaaweatherradio.org site. Instructions are here.

I managed to add BroadWave to my weather PC and offer a direct stream, and repointed my edcast stream to the Icecast server used with noaaweatherradio.org … best of both worlds.

Hi Folks,

Yes, please come on over. I, too have my stream over on noaaweather.org. I have a copy of an Excel sheet that Ken derived from the last WU Stream page that was available. It has 128 feeds listed on it.

We have been able to re-connect 45 of those streams, plus several new ones. That leaves 83 streams that are now non-operational. Forty-eight (48) of those did not have a website listed, and/or no longer exist. Thirty-five (35) had websites with feeds, but those feeds were/are still to WU.

We currently have 56 streams operating.

John

Yep, I was a streamer to WU from the beginning.

Is the NWS using this new feed to their benefit like they did the WU service?
