Missing Forecast Tags? (RESOLVED)

Hi

I have an email report that is sent out automatically. The report includes the following forecast tags.

%5dayforecastday1% through %5dayforecastday8%

The email report stop showing the forecast a few days ago.

Any thoughts on why these tags may be missing?

Thanks,
Rich

lots of threads already about this due to change in the format of the data source
make sure to use the latest WD update

Can you point me to the correct thread for a look.

there are at least 3 threads
which build are you using?

Weather-Display V10.37R-(b81)

The newest version does not work on my desktop.

but that is not the latest version

The newest version does not work on my desktop.

For the NOAA tab do I use my zone format as “ny337.txt” or “nyz337.txt” ?

and is it “/zone/ny/”

if you mean you have XP then WD will still work with a few tricks
(there are other threads about how to do that)

Yes still have XP. Will try to search for the threads.

Thanks

Attached is the NOAA setting table. Cannot get the download to work.

I think someone posted noaa is down currently?
also do you mean you have the latest version working now?

That host/directory/filename http://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/zone/ny/nyz071.txt currently works in a browser. I get:

I think the nws outage was resolved after 3 hours or so.

it would help richca could clarify what

Cannot get the download to work.
actually means exactly

Was not able to get the latest version of WD to work on XP and I am not sure if the NOAA setting is creating the tag I need.

The email report below is generated in WD but the %5dayforecastday1% tag results in “today —” only.

Email Report —>
Hudson Valley Weather Conditions from Tarrytown NY Weather as of February 14 2017 at 06:04 AM

Currently overcast - light snow; mist and 25.1

I still cannot get the NOAA function to work.

When I go to the host/directory/filename http://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/data/forecasts/zone/ny/nyz071.txt I am able to see a forecast but noting can be found saved in WD.

If the download was working properly would I be able to see the tags in the testtags.txt file? Because they are not there.

%5dayforecastday1%
%5dayforecastday2%
%5dayforecastday3%
%5dayforecastday4%
%5dayforecastday5%

its not clear what do you mean by you can not get it work exactly?
what part/ what is not working for you exactly?

I don’t know what part of it is not working. All I know is that the 5 day forecast tags are not be created based on the NOAA download function. They were working fine from 2010 until February 8 2017.

the best thing is to .zip and email me your settings files
(see the FAQ)

Okay thank for offering to figure it out.
