USB-to-1-wire interface hangs on Win7

I have a Windows7 64-bit laptop (HP). It has 4 USB 2.0 ports; 1 is used for Davis station, 1 is used for 1-wire interface. Randomly, the 1-wire interface just stops working. There is no LED flashing and the dallas1wirereader doesn’t receive any data. Solution is to physically disconnect and connect it again. I’ve checked the power settings but as far as I was able to understand, Windows should not power any USB port down. There is no problem with Davis logger. I tried all 3 USB ports but same behaviour.
Anyone experienced this?
I also have a Windows10 laptop (Asus) with same 1-wire interface and it is working with no problem.

Check you’re usb port setting to disable the power sleep  mode , try reinstall drivers

Mick

if a win 10 pc is working OK, then that tends to point to a driver problem on W7 for the 1 wire?

Thanks, I was thinking about the W7 drivers, too. I’ll see what I have installed and reinstall.
