ObserverIP consolewd rpi3

I recently picked up a raspberry pi3 and installed consolewd on it. Now I’m trying to figure out how to get consolewd to work with the ObserverIP of my weather station. It currently works with Weather Display on my Win7 box but would like to offload that job to the raspberry pi3.

I did search and found an older thread but nothing else. http://discourse.weather-watch.com/p/491041

TIA

I might be able to support the WIFI Pro station on consolewd …

That would be cool. Thanks.

I will see if I can get this working tomorrow

Does consolewd support meteobridge via TCP/IP? That is currently how I am connecting my WS-0900-IP to Weather Display on my Win7 box.

I should be able to get consolewd to work directly with the WiFi pro…I will work on that today
but that is another option…using the IP connection to meteobridge…( to test that, I would need access to your meteobridge, i.e port forwarded? (PM me that info)

Hi
I visited my brother, who has a WIFI pro station
and I made some progress with my Pi III

do you have a windows pc to do further testing to progress futher (i.e I get to you a test program)

try this test program , on windows , when no other software is connected to the Wifi pro station
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/project1.zip

set the IP address as the pc local address
(eg the IP address that shows when the easy weather IP software starts up (but dont have that program running)

and let me know what shows up after clicking on connect

Easy Weather isn’t compatible with the WS-0900-IP as far as I know so I don’t know what IP would show up?

My internal LAN subnet is 192.168.1.x and the IP of this Win7 machine is 192.168.1.5. You want me to set the IP in the software to 192.168.1.5?

If I type the IP of my computer in the “Local IP” space then it locks up and gives a windows message that it has stopped responding after about 3 seconds or so. I tested it on my Win7_64 and on my old WinXP_Pro box and it does the same thing on both PC’s.

If I put the IP of the ObserverIP it doesn’t lock up and I can select the text that populates the screen. Here’s that text.

setting wifi pro

This is what it does if I put the PC IP address in the box.

there is a special version of easy weather for the wifi pro
http://www.ambientweather.com/easyweatherip.html

make sure that works
and use the IP address that shows up in that

all those zeros are good…that means no errors
it listening for a response back…and waiting (its not actually locked up as such)
make sure the easy weather wifi version works
(as you may have to update the firmware on your station if that does not)

I am doing some testing via remote access to my brothers pc
stand by…

ok, making progress

OK, its working
try this update
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/projecttest.zip

after setting to use correct local IP (e.g the one where you got zeros)
then click on connect
(for me I then had to allow it past the windows firewall)
and then click on send broadcast
it then should show there is a connection
then click on request data
and then click on read data a few seconds after that

the raw data should then be displayed

next step is to actually get that same routine working on the raspberry pi (in consolewd) .hopefully will work…its the same compiler
will see if it compiles…thats the first step

easyweatherip reports local IP is 192.168.1.5 and that the current device is not connected, check wifi connection.

I have the Ambient Weather WS-0900-IP and it is a headless weather station. There is no display terminal.

Ah
That version of the station hardware will not work
Via the WiFi connection
We will have to work via the meteobridge data
But at least I am making good progress in supporting the WiFi pro station for consolewd

OK, thank you.

Here’s what happened when I ran the new test file. Screen grab video. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xnuwx1hdt3olx8i/consolewd_test.mp4?dl=0

Should be able to view the mp4 in 1080P video
