UNIVERSAL interface weather data format (datain38.ini)

I have bult a home Weather station using a reasberry Pi and Swithdoc, Grovepi interfaces and sensors.

And would like to write some python script that will encode date that WD can import. I was thinking of using datain38.ini file format.

After searching the internet (for many hours) I have not came up with any pages that explain it format.

Can some one please help, or suggest a format that I could use and create using python.

I would like not to use stationless mode

The file universal.txt specifies the format, it’s in the installed WD directory. Using datain38.ini is a stationless mode in WD.

If you want to go the file route I would suggest creating a clientraw.txt, that’s well documented and has more fields available.

searching the forum for datain38.ini should have given the info about the universal.txt file I would have thought?

Thankyou for replying

I can use stationless mode and use the client/server tcip setup. how ever that I can not download load http images.

Others must be building home made stations, if so what protocols / data file format do they use to get data into WD.

What is defined is stationless less setup?

Haven’t we been around this block before? http://discourse.weather-watch.com/p/495552

Not extactly.

All i’m trying to do is to create a WD compatable driver, that avoids my having to use stationless mode and the TCP interface to download clientraw.txt, that method appears to disable http downloads.

All I’m realy asking for are some exmple WD compatable data files that can be loaded by the Select Station Type settings, I have treid search for some hours now with out any real sucess.

Perhaps universal data / file format could be suggested, for use with home made Weather Stations like mine, that connect from my Raspberry pi to my PC via a standard network setup.

I also have the same problem.

I have been using a piZero with a home brew station and would like to be able to add extra sensors using the datain38.ini file, but my las attempt at asking this question had no reply http://discourse.weather-watch.com/p/493234

I have been running this station since Oct 2016 with no problems, would like to add extra sensors, but how? as a minimum would like another sensor for Temp/Hum in the Pollytunnel.
