Can I run Wxsim in a Virtual Machine and other Questions

I was wondering if I could run Wxsim in a windows Virtual Machine running on Linux or should I have a separate computer to run it? Also what are the computer requirements to run Wxsim. Also what is the radius of the Wxsim forecast area?

Thanks for your question! I think you will be able to run it in a virtual box. I know I can, though the box is already on a Windows computer. I don’t know if the supporting OS being Linux matters or not. I suggest installing the demo (use www.wxsim.com/wxsimdem.exe) and make sure it starts up OK. You can also do test runs using Atlanta or another demo site.

The radius of accuracy depends very much on the location and the type of weather. It’s meant to be specific for your exact location. On some days that will be relevant and accurate for a fairly large radius, but on other days, differences of only a few miles might matter.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
