proof of concept, need a test, windows 10

Hi
I have created a proof of concept windows 10 appx package for weather display install from the windows shop

I need a tester to test to see if it installs and launches OK on a version of windows that WD has not been installed on before

There a a few quirks with a windows 10 app installed via the windows store though…the registry is a virtual sand boxed type registry for the app, meaning the registry settings can not be shared/accessed from other normal .exe programs

and so this version of WD would not have any internet functionality enabled
and so it would be like a Lite version…ie I would make it available for free on the windows 10 store…but if people wanted the full functionality then they can install the normal version
sort of thing

Brian,
Running Windows 10 Pro. Downloaded the .appx file, ran it but comes up with the following error:
WD has never been installed on this PC.

WD Win10 error.PNG

ah, OK
sort of what I expected
I did not get that error myself on my window 10 pc that runs WD
but that is why I wanted someone else to test

From what I understand, if I submit to the Microsoft store, they code sign the package so that it will be trusted OK on anyone’s pc

Compiling as ad-hoc should work re testing
I will do that and then it would be great if you can test that:)

new update ready to test, same URL
thanks!

I got someone else to test…same error
I think it must work OK on my other windows 10 pc here because that is linked to my development pc microsoft account?

just an update
I have WD available in the windows app store now

(windows 10)
its a basic version (i.e advanced features disabled)
do not install if you have WD installed already
