Weather Report 2

if you could .zip and email me your settings files then I will check/test here

Sorry for the late reply Brian. I’ve been having problems with my laptop which seems hell bent on corrupting my WD files. It seems to have given up trying now though as thanks to your great software I have managed to undo any damage.

I should be able to get the files to you within the next few days.

Once again thank you for creating a brilliant piece of software and for providing ongoing support that is second to none.

Merry Christmas.

Ross

Hi Brian,

I have now upgraded to build 39 but the problem still seems to persist. Attached are the latest screenshots which appear to show that WDFTP is connecting to the server but not sending any data. WDFTP opens and connects but gets stuck after connected.

Regards,

Ross

I find that happens when you do not have the correct port to use
try setting other than port 21

use this new update

vers

I was using the wrong ssl start mode
for the #2 weather report setup

Hi Brian,

That seems to have sorted the issue of WDFTP getting stuck but for some reason WD still fails to add the recipients. Below is the latest FTP Log:

Hi Brian

I was installing latest build 40 and weatherreport stopped working. I have also installed latest wdftp from your previous post - and its still not working.

See attached error message

Any ideas?

I have reverted to build 34 and everything is working again.

Best regards,
Henrik

Hi Brian,

That seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you.

However I hate to be a nuisance but for some reason the end of the moth report isn’t sending either. When I click test in the Averages/Extremes/ Reports section WD briefly shows the windows 10 wait cursor but nothing appears to happen after that. There is no sign of WDFTP and no entries in the FTP log.

Many Thanks,

Ross

@jwwd
check what port you are using
(what port are you using?)

@rh205
I do see you have a blank line in that email to list for the test

the FTP upload should occur at the next minute change
note that you would need to click on OK first if you changed any of the switches to create and send the reports etc then go back and click on the test

Hi Brian

Im using port 587 and my Gmail account.

Best regards,
Henrik

make sure to be using the latest cronweatherreport.exe version
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/cronweatherreport.zip

as the other issue is the setting for implicit or explicit SSL I had set wrong

Hi Brian,

I just tried removing the space before the email address listed by selecting the blank space and clicking ‘remove selected email’ and selected the ‘use these email address instead of the weather report email address’ option then clicked OK. I then reopened the window and clicked test but for some reason WD re-added the space and nothing happened. I tried with the ‘use these email address instead of the weather report email address’ option deselected but again still nothing happened. For some reason WD doesn’t appear to be triggering the email program used to send the report. It shows the wait cursor but then nothing after that.

Having looked in the webfiles folder I can see that WD is modifying the files but not sending them and there is nothing shown in the FTP log.

Many Thanks,

Ross

did you wait until the next minute update?
I could make it where the ftp or cronweather report is fired straight away
and the next update will fix the remove selected email not working

use the latest .zip update

Hi Brian,

Sorry for the late reply.

I am now using WD Ver10.37S41.

The month report still doesn’t appear to be working. When I click test the entry shown in the attached screenshot is added to the ftplog. But after a minute it produces the entry as shown in the attached ftplogfull file. WD appears to start both the ftpupd and cronweatherreport programs.

I have noticed that like the original problem with Weather Report 2 the exact same line is shown in the log ‘165: Please specify a recipient (To).’ So it appears that the program is failing to add the email address. It produces this regardless of whether the ‘use these email address instead of the weather report email address’ option is enabled or not.

Many Thanks,

Ross

ftplogfull.txt (16 KB)

If you could .zip and email me your settings files and what exact steps you are doing etc

the problem is you had ticked
do not email to your email
(not normally ticked)
use this update
http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/cronweatherreport.zip

Hi Brian,

Just a quick update. Weather reports 1 and 2 both seem to be sending without any problems. But the end of the month report didn’t send automatically at 0014hrs on the 1st of this month. It sends without a problem when clicking on test. Unfortunately because the FTP log had been reset before I could see what happened I have been unable to find out why it didn’t send automatically.

I will transfer my settings to another PC and try and recreate the problem in the coming days and let you know my findings.

Many Thanks for your support with this.

Ross
