New Releases!

Hi Everybody,

I’ve just released Version 2016, Build 1.1 of WXSIM, along with Version 6.1 of WXSIMATE. The WXSIMATE update accounts for the loss of the weather.noaa.gov server (tomorrow!). The WXSIM changes were described in a separate thread, but I’ve also modified it just slightly today - hopefully didn’t introduce any more bugs!!!

To UPGRADE, use this installer: www.wxsim.com/wxsimupg.exe

If you’ve never used WXSIM before, use this link: www.wxsim.com/wxsimdem.exe

Let me know how it goes!

Tom

The new update works fine for me:

Thanks for your work Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks I used the www.wxsim.com/wxsimupg.exe and I noticed that Autolearn-WX is version 3.0 the last version I had was 3.1 (Downloaded from www.wxsim.com/autolearn.exe.

Could you please confirm which is correct (for now I have reverted to what I already had being v3.1).

regards,

Well Tom, I still get the error Run-time error ‘11’: Division by zero.

Tonight, I decided to investigate more about this error, so I renamed the folder wxsim to wxsim_ and installed a fresh copy of Wxsim.
Afterwards, i copied the initial customization file you’ve sent to me and so far so good. The new version runs like a charm!

Three years ago, in July 2013, I ordered an extra customization and you sent me two updated files to replace the initial ones. So, when I overwrote the initial files with the newer customized ones, the error appeared again! These files are: cty.fdt and custinit.txt. So, this is the reason why I get this runtime error.

I can send you these two files to investigate more if you’d like. For the time being, I rolled back to the version 1.0 wxsim.exe which runs without an error…

Thanos

Tony, you’re right - thanks! I forgot to put that latest version (3.1) in the new package. I’ve done so now and re-uploaded. I’m embarrassed to say that at the moment, I don’t recall what I changed between 3.0 and 3.1! Anybody remember?

Thanos, can you explain a bit more, and maybe post those files? I’m not quite clear what’s being done where.

Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the response, no doubt during that time you where full on with end of Term stuff as well, so embarrassment should be nulled out.

Issue with Autolearn-WX was some had cortest.txt open in notepad http://discourse.weather-watch.com/t/61817 and partial resolve in versioning later in thread http://discourse.weather-watch.com/p/484133

I also recall a change with wret http://discourse.weather-watch.com/p/487055 though not sure what happened with versioning (assume it’s correct).

It would be brilliant if we had (as I suggested eons ago) a simple text file on your site for lookup of current Versions/Beta etc, or as we did have a sticky post with latest versions and a simple commentary regards changes. Just a thought from the past

And the drawback associated with Naming of Subjects in Posts (I raised eons ago) makes it near impossible to search and find when they are none related. :frowning:

Thanks again,

regards,

Tom, files sent!

Thanos

I am getting the same error as Atsio.

With mine, I get the error on trying to open Wxsim and it will not open.

Gary

Found the problem that Thanos saw. It has to do with being set to use humidex (a Canadian thing, mainly!) instead of Heat Index. I’ll be fixing this later today, I think.

I’m have the same problem as Gary.

(Also posted this in another thread)

OK, I think I’ve fixed that problem involving a division by zero error if you were using humidex instead of heat index. Thanks so much for the feedback and files which allowed me to catch and fix it!

The upgrade to Version 2016, Build 1.2 is available now, at

www.wxsim.com/wxsimupg.exe

(and if you’ve never used the rpogram before, use the demo installer: www.wxsim.com/wxsimdem.exe)

Tom

Thanks Tom, wxsim.exe is fixed! Now it’s running fine!

Thanos

Thanks Tom,

Everything is working now with the new update.

Gary

Rick

Don’t forget, Rick, Tom is a school teacher. LOL
