WD v10.37.R320 crashes after 100 inputs

My WD is crashing after processing about 100± data inputs as indicated by the good data counter.
After crashing, it restarts (watchdog?) and the cycle repeats indefinately.
Normally this is mostly a nuisance, but durring a lengthy rain event, most of the rain data is lost
since it apears data is only saved periodically. Currently I am entering rain data by hand every hour or so,
but I have to do a ‘save & exit’ each time or that new data may not be recorded even though it shows on the screen.

Data input is from a Davis Vantage 2 via USB. Used to work until I moved to Windows 10 and switched from ver87 back around the first of the year.

Is there a setting somewhere I have overlooked that could be causing this?

Hi
make sure to not use the watchdog
(disable that )

Well that was a quick reply! Thanks Brian.
I have disabled WD and after a few restarts to clear things out, I guess, It has now procesed 300 data packets and seems to be doing well.
But what happens now if (for some strange reason WD crashes? Has the need for WD gone away with these new versions?

Fred LaPlante

I think you should find that you really do not need to use wd watch dog
with the upgrade, if the original version of that was running, then it might be that you did not get an upgrade to the latest version of that

OK Brian, good to know.
WD has collected 22,000 entries so far and looking good.
Thanks again.
