Daylight Saving Time issue - beta 6 but not sure if it is that

Hello,

I am wondering if there can be some help on my daylight saving time issue.

Here is the situration.

  1. the computer is on daylight savings time and says it.
  2. In Wxsimate the daylight saving time box is checked.
  3. In Wxsim the the daylight savings box is checked.

On the outside everything seems to be as it should however if you look at WRET is says in the retrieved data that it is on standard time not daylight saving time. I have the box in WRET that says to use daylight savings time checked.

I think that this is giving me some issues with the downloading of the SYNOP where I am getting at times a 404 error saying that the site is not available. I have tried all of the options for this one even the one that says obsolete.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Gary,

What you’re seeing on WRET is correct. For example, when I look at WRET, it shows 7:00a as the time of the latest data retrieval. Since that is Standard Time, it would be 8:00AM Daylight Time. And that is the time of my last WxSim run.

I thought that something was wrong and that WRET did not change.

You can definitely put wret on Daylight Time for output purposes, but the file names and listed dates/times use standard time. It sounds like it’s OK, but I can understand the confusion!
