WD Linux download

Hi,
I’m new to the forum and linux for that matter. I’m running Mint 17.3 and would love to try WD, but don’t see files to use on the download page. A quick start guide would help too, if available. Thank you in advance.

I removed them from the download page because of a lack of interest
I am hoping in the future to be able to improve the linux version of WD
but you can still download from

Sorry, but that link does not work. It takes me to my ISP’s search page.

Thank you sir, that one works. I will try it this week end.

If you are annoyed (I would be) by your ISP’s DNS Redirection most services allow you to use a third party DNS such as Google’s Public DNS.

Hi all,

Had a chance the other evening to try the given file. I have previously read through some post here and seen that 64bit installations were problematic at best. Since I’m a linux noob and am using Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64 bit, my expectations are low.

I got the file unpacked where I wanted it. Tried to launch WD a couple times, but no joy. I was missing a library file. Searched for it and found out in the process, that my OS should run 32bit files. Installed the file and tried launching again.

I got the loading and nag screens, but the GUI didn’t look right. (sorry no screenshot) I could use the menu bar and all screens were available and manipulatable, but nothing was saved once closed.

I have enclosed, in text form, what was on the terminal after launch. If someone could clue me in on what should be done next,it would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Kevin
