Animated GIF's - Only 3-4 images in size

Evening all…

Has anyone experienced this one before?

My 30 minute animatedgif files are very stuttery and produce only 3-4 snapshots at best.
I have WD capturing files at 30 second intervals and can see the files being created.
But the combined file is always the last 3-4 minute files. See attachment

All experience, advice and help is appreciated

JK

the animated web cam gif does not use the 30 (or 10) second images…
(check the setting though to reduce the number of images)
only the moviemaker files (mpeg or flash etc) use those files

Hi Brian

Not sure I understand. (check the setting though to reduce the number of images)???
Can you help with a little more detail…

WD is currently creating these files - plus a jpg version I think

These are the timestamped files from my web32.jpg created by the IP camera.
Apologies for the newbie questions. I have been away for over 5 years and am a bit rusty.
Spent a few hours trying to get this running smooth before reaching out to ask for help

JK

there is a setting to reduce the number of images in the animated web cam setup in the web cam setup

I’ve left this at default (0) - attached

As I assume I want to use as many images as I can to produce a smooth animatedgif?

JK

I will do some testing here of the animated web cam gif

Many thanks Brian

I’ve spent a couple of days trying to smooth these animated gifs out
They only seem to grab the last 5 seconds of each 30 minute block

the last 5 minutes I think you mean?

anyway, I think adding a youtube video of how to set up the web cam (save image and overlay) and setup time stamped files and create movies and the animated gif is in order

Yes my bad… I meant the last 5 mins…

A video would be perfect… Many thanks

OK,in testing I see that its only using the last 5 minutes
when it should be using the last 8 minutes
I will investigate

the latest .zip update fixes this issue
(you will need to let it run for 1 minutes to see the fix)

I have added a youtube video now
