WDL working on Edge / IE but not Chrome

Hello all,

Long time user, first time poster

Having not checked my WDL webpage for quite some time, I was greeted by the serial number error page. I did some checking in my xml config, and all seemed to match my original serial I recevied.

I then checked the page in Microsoft Edge (as well as original IE) and it seems to work fine. I also ran the experiment on another WDL page, and same thing happened.

Is there something unusual in the way Chrome asks webservers for pages, that may be dropping off the www. for example ?

My page for perusal and/or testing is www.dob80z.com

Any suggestions would be appreciated !!

Regards

dob80z

Works fine in Chrome/W7-64 for me using the www.dob80z.com link you posted.

What exactly are you seeing in Chrome?

Your WDL Page is working fine for me in Chrome on Win 8.

It is also working on another machine I have a Win 10 Machine using Chrome…

Working fine on my end. I recommend you look on the console to see if you have any errors there and if so, post them here.

This is a screenshot of what I see:

I tried a clear browsing data and cache, and not much improved.

I’m going to find another laptop here and try it as well.

Is this is Chrome console ?

I opened that and could not notice anything standing out (although to be truthful, I probably wouldn’t recognise anything error based either… :? )

I have some apache access_logs if that would help, but from a quick glance, it is just 304 not modified, and 200 OKs. The only 404 I have is for Edge / IE complaining there is no favicon.ico, which is correct - there isn’t one.

@dob80z does mine work for you http://www.realweatherstation.com/wdlk/ ?

OK - it seems I have to do some homework on my particular Chrome install. Your website failed (the same serial number error), however, my wife could access both sites fine on Chrome on her laptop.

Off to do some Chrome specific googling #-o

Update to the latest Chrome version if not already. Flash blocker ?

Same problem here using the latest version of Chrome.

Can’t get any WDL website to load in Chrome - serial number error.

To avoid confusion I locked that other thread.

Is this still true?

If so I suggest you try getting some help on a Chrome forum since it doesn’t appear to be a WDL problem. You could also completely uninstall/re-install Chrome.

Thanks for locking the other thread.

Anyone else having issues?

What I would do:

First export your bookmarks:

In the top-right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu.
Select Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager.
Click the “Organize” menu in the manager.
Select Export bookmarks.
Chrome will export your bookmarks as an HTML file, which you can then import into another browser.

Then completely uninstall Chrome - many page describe the process, here’s one http://www.wintips.org/how-to-completely-uninstall-re-install-google-chrome/

Then do a fresh Chrome install.
