Hobby Boards CLOSING DOWN

Just read that Hobby Boards are closing down - http://www.hobby-boards.com/store/ which is such a shame.

Bummer.

I would like to have 8 temp sensors. Buried at 6" intervals. 6" down 12" down 18" down and so on.

What would I use. Connected to a Linux computer by USB.

Mick has a great site on how to put 1 wire things together http://www.weather-above.com/, the Dallas temperature chips are available from Ebay, but now would be the time to buy HobbyBoard kit.

Definitely sad, but if it’s only temp, and you can use a soldering iron, it’s doable without hobby boards.

Try the website , it you get stuck ,

You can also get DS18B20’s assembled into (claimed to be) waterproof sensors on ebay at very low cost.

Really is a shame that HobbyBoards is closing. I’ve always liked their products and support was really good.
